Welcome to Irvine – a bustling seaside town full of character and charm situated on the Firth of Clyde within the beautiful region of North Ayrshire around 7 miles west of Kilmarnock and 12 miles north of Ayr. Irvine was designated as a ‘New Town’ in November 1966 and was the only one of the five ‘New Towns’ that was situated on the coast next to the sea. Located around 31 miles from Glasgow the town is popular with day trippers and can get busy in the summer months.
Irvine is the largest town in North Ayrshire and offers a great range of facilities, attractions & activities for locals and visitors alike – wander through Main Street through to the shopping centre where you can shop till you drop in a number of branded & independent shops, spend the day at the beach where you can enjoy spectacular views across to the Isle of Arran or for the super adventurous try some kite surfing or paddle boarding, visit the Harbour Arts Centre or the Scottish Maritime Museum where you can learn more of the towns history & heritage. If you prefer to be outdoors in nature then head to Eglington Castle & Country Park for some beautiful tracks & trails on foot, bike or by horseback - whatever you do if you’re passing through, stop and stay for a while and enjoy ‘What’s on’ offer in Irvine.
